Demi Lovato & Ariel Pink Take Two Very Different Paths to Ridicule

https://www.ccn.com/demi-lovato-ariel-pink-ridiculed/

This is an opinion.

  • Singer-actress Demi Lovato has declared that she will be going to the studio in response to the ‘assault on democracy’ on January 6th.
  • Fellow musician Ariel Pink attended the protests that Lovato opposed.
  • Although these musicians support opposing causes, they have found common ground by getting ruthlessly roasted on social media.

It’s been a bizarre few days for America. Rioters breached the Capitol Building. Ariel Pink showed up for the ‘protests.’ Nancy Pelosi and others want to invoke the 25th Amendment.  But none of that matters now. Demi Lovato is going to make every assaulter on democracy pay…by hitting the studio.

Demi Lovato Gets in Her Feelings — And Twitter Can’t Handle It

Just like Ariel Pink, Demi Lovato really thinks she’s doing the right thing.

Like many Americans, dare I say most Americans, Lovato is upset about the Capitol Riots. How could Trump encourage his following into lawlessness? How could the police just let those insurgents break into the Capitol Building? Wasn’t Donald Trump the man who’s been pumping law and order?

Armed with the best weapons she has, Demi Lovato has decided to do something about it.

She’s getting back into the studio to ‘work on something special’ after the recent ‘assault on democracy.’

Check out her full, glorious tweet below:

I mean, do we really need to invoke the 25th amendment? Does Facebook really even need to ban Donald Trump? Does anything else need to be done when the former child star from the Mickey Mouse Club is back in the studio?!

Apparently, yes, things still need to be done. And first on the agenda, according to Twitter users far and wide, is to tease Demi Lovato relentlessly.

Check out some of these hilarious reactions:

One Twitter user likened Demi’s self-image to a superhero:

Another Twitter user offered this cringeworthy take:

The ridicule could go on and on and on. But luckily, Demi Lovato wasn’t the only musician who took a hit over the last few days.

Ariel Pink Takes a Different Route to the Same Destination

At least Demi Lovato was on the side of democracy. Fellow musician, and outspoken Trump supporter, Ariel Pink was actually at the protests. Although he did his best to convince us that he wasn’t part of the violent mob, does it really matter?

Is there really any difference between supporting the man that incites the riots and actually participating in the riots?

And is there any difference between people’s reaction to Ariel Pink’s actions and Demi Lovato’s declaration? Apparently, not much.

Check out these hilarious digs:

One big difference, as you might imagine, is that some of Ariel Pink’s detractors weren’t nearly as playful.

What can we learn from these two ‘celebrities’?

Are Lovato & Pink More Similar Than They Appear?

Demi Lovato is getting roasted because she’s making such a monumental, terrible moment about herself. Nobody likes it when people insert themselves into a tragedy.

But at least she’s trying to bring awareness to the cause.

Ariel Pink is also bringing awareness to a cause; it just seems like he may have gone to some QAnon meetings at which he had extra helpings of the Kool-Aid, first.

Regardless, during such a pivotal moment in our nation’s history, people don’t want to be force-fed opinions from musical artists. And those who insist may be subject to ridicule.

Is Harry Styles Anything More Than Olivia Wildes Shiny New Rebound?

https://www.ccn.com/harry-styles-olivias-wildes-rebound/

This is an opinion.

  • Harry Styles and Olivia Wilde have been spotted holding hands at a wedding.
  • That is all media sources like TMZ needed to officially brand them a ‘couple.’
  • If these assumptions are correct, Styles should proceed with caution with the director, who’s fresh off a long-term, committed relationship.

Harry Styles is still a young man. As a 26-year-old rockstar, he’s had many unique experiences, but that type of lifestyle tends to keep people from a life of committed love. Olivia Wilde, on the other hand?

She has ten years on Styles. She was with Jason Sudeikis for seven years, and the couple had two children. And they just split at the beginning of the holiday season.

Is she ready to commit to this new, strapping young lad? Or is Harry Styles just an impressionable, young rebound that she’ll soon discard?

The Media Makes a Huge Assumption About Harry Styles

Twitter is gushing about Harry Styles and Olivia Wilde. But most of it is speculation. Are they dating?  Are they just friends? Is she the subject of the song ‘Olivia’?

Olivia Wilde Olivia Wilde
Keywords: ‘”we don’t know.” | Source: Twitter

Why? Because they went to a wedding together. And they were holding hands. With that evidence, speculation is the proper conclusion. They could just be friends. They could be full-on lovers.

But don’t tell that to media outlets like TMZ. It’s already crowning these two as the next Hollywood power couple.

TMZTMZ
TMZ makes the big assumption. | Source: Twitter

A bit soon, no?

Nonetheless, this will now be the driving narrative from now on. So let’s assume these two are officially dating. Is it a good idea for either of them?

Olivia Wilde Is Freshly ‘Divorced’

Olivia Wilde was never married to Jason Sudeikis, which is sort of weird.

The two were together for seven years, and they had two children together. And they were engaged for nearly that entire time. Until this past November, less than two months ago, when they called it off and split.

They were never married, but ending things with someone you’ve been with for so long, and have created a family with, is basically a divorce.

Olivia Wilde Olivia Wilde
You can start by running from your feelings. | Source: Twitter

Do you know what they say to people who’ve recently gotten out of such a long-term, committed relationship?

Take some serious time to yourself.

Whoopsie, Olivia.

Why Doesn’t Olivia Wilde Take ‘Time Off’ From Relationships?

There’s no set amount of time you should stay single after a breakup, but the consensus is that you should definitely take some time.

Psychotherapist Cori Dixon-Fyle told The Oprah Magazine:

The length of time it takes to get over someone depends on how integrated your partner was in your life.

Seven years and two children? I’d say that’s quite integrated.

Dixon-Fyle added that “if you were together for at least one year, give it at least one year.” She said that helps people get through all of the triggering events like birthdays, holidays, and anniversaries. Otherwise, you might just be using other people to avoid the pain you don’t want to feel.

Check out a video of Wilde and Styles holding hands:

Olivia Wilde, it seems, couldn’t quite make it through the holidays.

She was partnered up for seven years and took what appears to be less than two months off. And it’s not her first rodeo.

After her divorce from Italian Prince Tao Ruspoli in 2011, she started dating Jason Sudeikis…also in 2011.

Good Luck, Harry Styles

Olivia Wilde is probably not a bad person, and I’m sure she has no ill will towards Harry Styles. But that doesn’t mean she won’t crush him.

Wilde is fresh off of a long-term relationship, and she’s ten years older than Harry. Is there a real path to partnership here?

What’s even more concerning is that she’s basically his boss. The two have been forming a connection on the set of “Don’t Worry Darling,” which stars Harry Styles. Olivia Wilde is the person directing him.

Dating your co-workers or your boss is another terrible idea.

Could these two hurdle all of these blaring red flags and become an enchanted Hollywood couple? Of course!

But this probably ends with someone nursing a broken heart–most likely the sensitive young man who likes to wear dresses and sing love songs.

Or maybe they’re just friends who like to hold hands.

Why Are Police Treating Capitol Protesters So Differently Than BLM?

https://www.ccn.com/police-capitol-protesters-blm/

This is an opinion.

  • Egged on by Donald Trump, MAGA protestors infiltrated the Capitol Building.
  • Members of Congress were meeting to certify Joe Biden’s presidential victory.
  • The protestors appeared to encounter very little resistance from police–a sharp contrast from the aggressive, violent tactics of law enforcement during the Black Lives Matter protests.

Donald Trump is not going quietly. Egged on by Trump, protestors have stormed the Capitol Building and engaged in armed standoffs with police. They’ve broken into a government building and somehow experienced far less resistance than Black Lives Matter (BLM) protestors experienced for peacefully protesting outside.

How Donald Trump Helped Start These Protests

If you haven’t been tuning in, this is far from the first time Trump has incited people to engage in potentially violent acts. But now that the heat has been turned up. As members of congress were meeting to officially certify Joe Biden’s presidential victory, Trump pulled out the stops.

Trump spent the last 24 hours hiking up the urgency of his election fraud campaign.

Twitter has been flagging many of Trump’s tweets. | Source: Twitter

But before that, Trump has been riling up his following. Check out this call for action that he retweeted days ago:

Trump’s fellow Republicans have begun to denounce him more vocally. According to The New York Times, Mitt Romney said,

This is what the president has caused today, this insurrection.

Mike Pence Is Evacuated

After Vice President Mike Pence rejected Trump’s calls to overturn the election earlier today, Trump turned on him. He tweeted that “Pence didn’t have the courage to do what should have been done to protect our Country.”

Mike Pence had to be evacuated from the Capitol.

Why Aren’t the Police Responding Like They Did With Black Lives Matter?

We’ve all seen the hundreds of videos released during the height of the Black Lives Matter protests. Peaceful protestors were beaten, bruised, and bloodied. There videos of police ramming people with their vehicles and assaulting elderly, innocent bystanders. They even attacked journalists.

Check out this video of the violent police:

[youtube https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RpXXUC623ow?feature=oembed&w=900&h=506]

For what? Waving a sign?

Sure, some protestors were rioting and looting, but no one was upset about the response against those people.

These MAGA protestors broke through the Capitol building. They unlawfully infiltrated government property. According to CNN, a woman is in critical condition after being shot on Capitol grounds.

Why aren’t the police responding? Why aren’t they prepared like they were for Black Lives Matter? Why weren’t they lined up on Capitol grounds, looking like this:

BLMBLM
The police were not okay with peaceful protests but seemed to be fine with breaking and entering. | Source: Twitter

They’ve had ample time to prepare. Trump has been talking about January 6th since 2020:

trumptrump
Everyone knew what might happen, but why weren’t the police prepared? | Source: Twitter

And yet, protestors just seemed to waltz right into the Capitol Building with no signs of tear gas, or batons, or rubber bullets.

The police were even taking selfies with the protestors:

The only sign of force came during the armed standoff when protestors had already had their way with the Capitol building.

It’s just more sad evidence that reveals the type of country America has become.

The World Is Revolted by Donald Trump, Here Are the Tweets to Prove It

https://www.ccn.com/world-revolted-by-donald-trump/

This is an opinion.

  • Donald Trump may not have officially incited today’s riots in the Capitol, but we all know he didn’t do much to stop them.
  • Protestors infiltrated the Capitol building and halted Joe Biden’s election certification.
  • This was the last straw for many world leaders as they’ve begun to loudly speak out against Trump.

If it wasn’t already clear that the rest of the world was disgusted by Donald Trump, it’s now become obvious.

All it took was a hostile takeover of the Capitol Building in Washington D.C. for world leaders to make their feelings fully known.

The Capitol Is Under Siege

Men wearing camouflage waving confederate flags have infiltrated the Capitol Building today. Why? Because today was the day that Joe Biden was to be certified as the winner of the 2020 election.

That has yet to happen–Congress has only certified 12 electoral college votes–all for Donald Trump.

Capitol BuildingCapitol Building
Just another day in Trump’s America. | Source: Twitter

And Trump played a huge role in these events. He’s been hyping up his base to prepare for a big rally on January 6th in Washington D.C. That rally turned into these Capitol protests, and Trump said very little to discourage them.

Now his ‘peers’ have been denouncing his actions left and right. After Mike Pence refused to join Trump in his quest to overturn the election, it seems that his only friends in the Capitol building are the ones that got in there by force.

How the World Feels About Donald Trump

It’s no big secret that millions of Americans have despised Donald Trump and have resented every moment he’s been President. But now world leaders have come out of the woodwork to denounce him as well.

Check out these tweets:

UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson denounced the events on Twitter:

Scottish First Minister Nicole Sturgeon was not amused:

And let’s not even get started on Trump’s fellow Republicans. Former Attorney General William Barr called the Capitol mob “outrageous and despicable.”

Republican Senator Mitt Romney said the president “caused this insurrection.”

Even Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell denounced the President’s attempts to overturn the election on Wednesday:

The voters, the courts, and the states have all spoken. If we overrule them all, it would damage our republic forever. … If this election were overturned by mere allegations from the losing side, our democracy would enter a death spiral. We’d never see the whole nation accept an election again.

It appears as the only people left who appreciate Donald Trump are the ones he’s personally misled through his tweets and his casual acceptance of the QAnon conspiracy.

Good luck getting the rest of the world back on your side.

Capitol Putsch: Donald Trump Needs The 25th Amendment Now

https://www.ccn.com/capitol-putsch-donald-trump-needs-the-25th-amendment-now/

This is an opinion.

  • The 25th amendment allows for the removal of a President when he can no longer perform his duties.
  • Today, several lawmakers called upon outgoing Vice President Mike Pence to invoke the amendment and remove Donald Trump from office.
  • Pence is rumored to be considering it — but he should have done it a long time ago.

Will the 25th Amendment finally be invoked, and Donald Trump finally removed from office?

Somehow, that question still hangs in the air more than 24 hours after the “Capitol Putsch,” yesterday’s embarrassing display of white fragility in which Donald Trump — failed businessman, failed game show host, failed Hollywood star, and known Jeffrey Epstein associate — encouraged his base to storm the Capitol to disrupt the previously-mundane process of certifying the Electoral College results that would officially make President-elect Joe Biden the 46th president.

Despite the thousands of warnings on Twitter, the bragging of insurrection from the likes of Scott “The Persistence” Presler, and the goading from Rudy Giuliani to have a “trial by combat,” DC still seems to be hemming and hawing about the possibility of having to invoke the 25th Amendment.

My question is simple: what are they waiting for?

25th Amendment Now: Better Late Than Never

From the minute Donald Trump took office, Democrats have been calling for officials to invoke the 25th Amendment to remove him from office.

There were no shortage of voices who claimed, of course, that this demand was “hysterical” and “politically motivated,” not the least of which included Ben Shapiro, who made a career out of defending Trump when he wasn’t getting laughably owned for bragging about not being able to please his wife in the bedroom.

And they continued to be strong and wrong up until yesterday’s Capitol Putsch — inspired, no doubt, by Hitler’s Beer Hall Putsch that had the same intent, and the same end result, nearly 100 years ago — when they realized that, yeah, as a matter of fact, words do matter, and maybe the President should have chilled out with the MAGA/Deep State/George Soros rhetoric before a bunch of emboldened white supremacists stormed the Capitol to the horror of the rest of the world.

Suddenly, even Republicans are joining in the calls for the 25th Amendment to be invoked. Maybe this little Fuhrer cosplay, seen below, was finally the bridge too far?

[youtube https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8X0KIYInLHc?feature=oembed&w=900&h=506]

Too Little, Too Late

But Republicans calling for the 25th Amendment on Donald Trump fall into the “too little, too late” category. The GOP should have denounced Trump, and all his Kardashian-style reality show pomp & circumstance when Edgar Maddison Welch shot up a pizza parlor in DC in the name of chasing after a debunked “Pizzagate” conspiracy theory propagated by the odious QAnon.

But they didn’t. They hitched their wagons to him and continued to feed the monster, then got shocked when the monster grew big to handle.

His supporters’ equally odious claims of the mythical “Antifa” being behind this seditious plot also falls flat when you consider that not only did Biden supporters have no reason to participate in this (why would they, when they want Trump out?), but they bragged about descending on DC to storm the Capitol in their Twitter profiles, as seen in Scott Presler’s profile below.

25th Amendment25th Amendment
I guess he’s going to blame “Antifa” too. | Source: Twitter

And while we will, eventually, come back to who knew about this planned insurrection and why it happened, one thing is clear: our elected officials have a duty to invoke the 25th Amendment and remove Donald Trump from office, effective immediately, as a result of this disgrace.

As Americans, we are extremely lucky that Donald Trump is an unintelligent, bloviating windbag — if he wasn’t, this sedition attempt would have succeeded, and we’d be living in true fascism. But if we don’t hold Trump accountable for the Capitol Putsch, the next Trump will be far more ruthlessly intelligent — and successful — in his insurrection.
